General

LA1K hosts a radio license course twice a year for all those who are interested in acquiring their very own Norwegian radio license. The course is held during the spring and fall semesters, correlating to the schedule of the university students. However, it is not a requirement to be a student or even a member of our club to participate. It is open to everyone who are interested.

Schedule

The course usually spans over 8 weeks, with a 2-hour lecture being hosted at the same location and time each week. The three last days are set aside for a qualifier exam, a qualifier walkthrough and the concluding exam. We arrange the time and location, but the main exam itself is developed by NKOM and hosted by the NRRL.

Cost

There is no cost to join the course lectures, it’s completely free. The curriculum however is based on the book “Veien til internasjonal radioamatørlisens“, which is not free, but it can be bought at a fair price from NRRL’s online store. We do recommend reading the whole book, as the course itself doesn’t have the time to go through it all. If you do pass the exam you will also have to pay a one-time fee to NKOM, but no further yearly payments are required; it’s yours forever.

Misc.

More details regarding the course will be posted at our blog in reasonable time. Click here to check out any recent posts or anouncements of the license course at our blog. All lectures and exams are usually hosted at NTNU Gløshaugen. If you do not a university key-card – no problem, but please let us know when signing up for the current course so we’ll help you get inside. If you have any questions or would like to register you interest, please drop us a line at la1k@la1k.no.

Good luck with the license!
